We are in agreement that nothing is accomplished by shutting down these sites. I scraped data from all kinds of right-wing communities and comment forums, and apart from a handful of openly sociopathic users who should have had their comments deleted, Parler was no different than any other right-leaning community.

All that has been accomplished is making these people's lives more inconvenient, and making them hate one more thing about the left. These people have moved on to sites like Gab and nothing has been done to quell their fury. What we all witnessed may have just been the first time that fury boiled over.
